Social & community support
Getting out and participating in your community, with a familiar support person who already knows how you like to do things.
What this support looks like
Social and community support helps you get out into the world. This might mean attending regular appointments, joining a local group, visiting friends, or trying something new. Your Supportr team member accompanies you and provides as much or as little support as you need. Because we assign a consistent team, your support person learns your preferences quickly: where you like to sit, how you prefer to communicate, which routes you like to take. Over time, each outing becomes smoother and easier.
What it includes
- Community outings: parks, cafes, shops, libraries and more
- Appointments: medical, allied health, government offices
- Public transport support and travel training
- Social groups, clubs, and recreational activities
- Sporting events, concerts, and entertainment
- Volunteering and community participation
- Building and maintaining friendships
Who this suits
- People who want to get out of the house more often
- Participants building confidence in public settings
- People who need support with transport or navigation
- Those who want a familiar face for regular appointments
- Participants working toward greater independence in the community

We assign a small team of two or three people to each participant and rotate within that group. You will not see a different stranger each time. Your team members know you and your routines.
No. You need to have NDIS funding for social and community participation. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can access our services. NDIA-managed participants cannot, as we are not a registered provider.
