Supportr recognises that caring for people and caring for the environment go hand in hand. We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint across our office operations, workforce practices, and supplier relationships — and to continuously improving as better options become available.
Recycling
We maintain clearly labelled recycling stations for paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, and e-waste. Office equipment and supplies are recycled through appropriate streams rather than sent to landfill. E-waste is disposed of through certified recycling partners.
Water Use
Tap water is the preferred choice for all meetings and daily office use, eliminating single-use plastic bottles. All leaks and dripping fixtures are reported and repaired promptly. We use water-efficient fittings where possible.
Office Supplies
We operate an internal supply swap system where usable items are available for reuse rather than discarded — particularly during staff transitions, where stationery, folders, and equipment are passed on rather than replaced. New purchases prioritise recycled or sustainably sourced products.
Paper Use
We operate a digital-first policy — documents, agreements, rosters, and communications are managed digitally wherever possible. When printing is necessary, double-sided printing is required. One-sided printed paper is reused as notepaper before recycling. All paper purchased is 100% recycled stock.
Energy Consumption
Lighting is LED throughout our office. Computers and monitors are set to sleep after short periods of inactivity. Lights and equipment are switched off at the end of each day. Air conditioning is used at agreed efficiency settings and natural light is used wherever practical.
Indoor Environment
We request that cleaning services use biodegradable, non-toxic products throughout our office. Indoor plants are maintained to support air quality and staff wellbeing. Routine air quality assessments are conducted and results are reviewed by Supportr staff.
Purchasing
When sourcing office supplies, kitchen consumables, and equipment, we prioritise vendors with environmental credentials. Paper products must contain at least 30% recycled content. Kitchen consumables such as cups, plates, and cutlery use biodegradable or reusable alternatives. Single-use plastics are avoided.
Meeting Planning
Tap water is always provided in preference to bottled water. Where meals are sourced, we favour local and organic options where practical. Reusable cups, plates, and cutlery are standard. Accessible recycling bins are provided at all catered events. Printing for meetings is minimised through shared digital documents.
Ongoing improvement
This policy is reviewed annually. We are committed to raising the bar over time — identifying new areas for improvement, adopting better practices as they become available, and holding ourselves accountable to the commitments above.
